Things To Consider While Choosing A Traveling Photography WorkShop

Posted by Photography Talk on January 10th, 2023

If you love to capture photographs while traveling, go for the best photography workshops that offer traveling while learning. It can be a perfect way to learn while having traveling fun. But you should check out the following 2 points before going for a photoshoot workshop:

Localization

The location is the most significant consideration for many people when selecting a workshop to teach photography. Consider the surrounding environment where you will be. According to David H. Wells, a veteran travel instructor, while there are many interesting places to visit, they may need to make better places for photography. You need a great location with lots of people and interesting locations.

Liza Politi has been instructing and facilitating workshops for almost a decade. She has traveled to 25 countries across four continents. Before you book travel, you check the sunrise and sunset times as per Liza Politi's recommendations. Are you planning to shoot long days or shorter days?

Instructors

While most people place the destination first, some people will attend specific workshops to have the chance to work with an instructor or guide. A workshop instructor can make or break it. Ralph Lee Hopkins, director of Lindblad Expeditions' Expedition Photography program and National Geographic founder and chief of staff, says that the title of the workshop matters less than the style and work of the instructor.

Kris Davidson, the workshop instructor, agrees that travel photography workshops, like many other creative teachings, can vary depending on the instructor. The instructor will impart more abstract knowledge on how to interact and move through the world beyond what the buttons do with the camera.

You can't predict the weather. Art Wolfe, a veteran photographer, and instructor, say that instructors should always have a plan in case the weather turns bad. This could be a quick portfolio review, critique session, or moving to another shooting location.
