The Top Ten Sunnah Food Items You Should Eat in Ramadan?

Maintaining a balanced diet in Ramadan is very essential. Consuming low-calorie foods that are not only nutritious but easily digestible remains recommended. As a lot of people also go for the performance of Umrah through their Ramadan Umrah Package. Our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad’s (SAWW) life is a perfect example for us in this regard. He (SAWW) took great care of his health and also recommended Sahabas (RA) to follow suit.

Here are the top ten sunnah food items to eat in Ramadan.

1. Dates.

Dates are enriched with Vitamins and proteins. Therefore, help in lowering cholesterol level in the body as well as remain an instant source of energy. Dates also contain a higher content of iron and thus help prevent fatigue or experiencing dizziness during the fast.

2. Pomegranate.

Pomegranate is the fruit of Jannah. It is incredibly tasty and remains a rich source of vitamins A, C, E. Moreover, these fruits are three times more powerful than any green tea in terms of anti-oxidation properties.

3. Figs.

Figs are a good source of antioxidants, fibres, vitamins, and minerals as well. These fruits not only prevent constipation but also act as a catalyst in improving digestive health. With healthful contents of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, figs also prevent heart diseases.

4. Cucumber.

Cucumbers are one of the favoured foods of Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW). They are a good source of vitamin A, C, B complex, potassium, iron and magnesium as well as hydrating in nature.

5. Watermelon.

Watermelons are about 92% water and carry many nutrients. With significant levels of Vitamin, A, B6 and C; a rich source of healthy plant compounds like lycopene, it improves heart health, bone health as well as prevents cancer.

6. Banana.

Bana is one of the most consumed fruit across the globe; milkshakes, smoothies, fruit salads and a variety of other dishes. It can be eaten with anything. Banana is great for digestive health and contains an array of beneficial vitamins and minerals.

7. Squash.

A large variety of Squash is water-dense. Hence, eating it during Ramadan will help your body in staying hydrated throughout the day. Being highly versatile in cooking nature, it can be stuffed, baked or even blended into a soup to make a tasteful and healthy dish.

8. Honey.

With antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, Honey is a cure for all diseases. It strengthens the immune system, cures wounds, regulates blood sugar level, heals poor skin conditions, prevents cancer and heart-related diseases.

9. Fish.

Fish meat is the most health-giving meat. It is a great source of protein, vitamin D, iron, and omega 3. The best in this regard is, healthy grilled or baked salmon; easy to digest, improves brain health.

10. Olives.

Olives remain a perfect and most natural source of vitamin E and other powerful antioxidants. It boosts metabolism, lowers cholesterol and maintains a consistent level of energy throughout the human body. It’s such a beneficial food that eating it has been recommended in Sunnah as well as the Holy Quran!
