Significance of Screen Printing

The evolution of printing has certainly given wings to the whole process of business promotion. Everyone likes promotional gifts and freebies, and screen printing is a process of designing T-shirts, cups, etc. In this process of screen printing in Victoria, the ink is pushed through a stencil to print a certain design on a particular material. The liquid only transfers to the areas the screen permits either by cutouts or by impermeable material. Only one color can be applied at a time, so a screen must be made for each time one needs to apply a different color.

The Historical Context

Of all the printing methods, screen printing is the oldest. Experts are not on the same page regarding the start of the same, and all have different opinions. Some are of the idea that it was China who introduced it to the world. The earliest forms of this technique can be traced back to the Song Dynasty (960 – 1279 AD). Some theories give a perspective that the technique started in India in the 4th century, and some draw its connection to Egypt. All the people agree to the fact that it came to Europe after the 18th century. At the inception, it was mostly used to decorate clothing, walls, and other objects. It was only in the19th century it was accepted in the world of advertising.

What All is Used?

Screen printing is a technique that requires colors to be placed layer after layer, and they need to be separated after that. Illustrator and Corel Draw are the tools that can be readily used for this purpose. Photoshop also cannot be left out of consideration.

· Vectors are generally preferred as they can be easily manipulated and can be stretched to the apex without compromising on quality. They are mathematical calculations used to create lines and figures on the monitors.

· Pixels are tiny squares of colors used to create an image. Upon expanding them, the tiny squares are visible. Low-resolution images look pixilated when we lower the quality because the squares turn larger, and the system has to process less information.

· The various formats compatible with this technique are JPEG, TIFF, PSD PNG, GIF, and BMP. One should be mindful of the fact that if files are not saved at 300 d.p.i. quality, then there’s no certainty that the ultimate merchandise will look as good as it can.

The Fantastic Fabrics

Natural fabrics are far better than synthetic ones for screen printing. The liquid absorption quality of the same is better, and it leaves a vibrant print behind. If you are confused about the fabric, stick to cotton. It is the best of the lot. The other choice could be a blend of cotton with polyester etc. The result varies according to the consistency of the fabric. Thicker materials are heavier and absorb more ink than thinner materials, so the results are also better with the former one. That’s why the choice of fabric is at the core of screen printing.

The Sum-Up

Screen printing has come in handy in this world of advanced promotional techniques. Victoria Printing Services can provide a good option for all the people who want to take the help of this technique to expand the goodwill and reach of their business.
