Gates formed the company in 1955. He was CEO of the company until 2000. In 2009, he founded the Bill for the Public Welfare and the Melinda Gates Foundation. In 2014, he donated about Rs 355 crore to the institute. Gates has been on the board of directors at Microsoft since 2014.
