For example, the seismic activity and strength of hurricanes are taken into account in the construction of houses, so they will not be easily destroyed when calamities strike again. Each unit also comes with a garden of its own. It is believed that the project will house 2 million Haitians.

Resort houses are also made out of used shipping containers in some parts of the islands.
