One broad difference between mixing a vessel and reactor is that a vessel is primarily made to mix two or more liquids together. Plus a vessel has an agitator that moves and mixes the liquid. These vessels are also known as blending tanks or mixing tanks. Whereas reactors are the vessels where any chemical or physical change takes place.
