Association football, otherwise known as football Association, is a governing body football played between two teams of eleven players each. It is played every year throughout the world by about 250 million players, making it the most popular sport in the world. It originated in the late nineteenth century in England and has since then spread to other parts of the world. It can be regarded as one of the greatest sports to watch and is regularly televised in many different countries.

Since the game is played at an official level, it is governed by a strict code of conduct which requires players to adhere to both the top and bottom of the game. The sport also requires its referees to do the same. There are different levels to play in football associations, with the top level consisting of teams at the top level of football competitions. The lower levels are played between teams at various levels of the sport itself. There are three levels of football associations, English Football Association (eno), the Scottish Football Association (shire) and Welsh Football Association (wfa). The highest level is the Uefa Champions League, which consists of the European teams qualifying from their countries. There are also lower levels like the Uefa Third Qualifying Championship, the FA Vase Finals Series and the FA Amateur Cup.
