The Quest for music the way you like it, or should I say I like it has often been an uneventful, and often times disappointing task. As I am sure a lot of you reading this right now would agree. Please allow me to define "music the way you like it".

I am going to tell you how the Jobs became the business giant despite of having a low profile education in his childhood.I am going to show you the products launched under his direction, and how he became the big name in the field of technology.

If you enjoy working with students, have experience teaching, or are an expert in a particular area, consider tutoring. Student ages can range from pre-teens all the way up to adults, so you can work with the age group you are most comfortable with.

Bring two copies of your resume, cover albums letter, and recommendation letter as well as some writing samples (if applicable - even if it's a paper you wrote about the music business). This is interesting and it sets you apart again!

Another way to find a job as a musician is to work for another music jobs who is already established. You can get valuable education and make contacts as part of the musician's team. Most of the people who are great musicians today learned from other musical greats. A great musician will recognize your talent and encourage you to pursue a solo career. You can also benefit by getting recommendations from the musician to perform at events where he has been invited, but cannot attend due to other commitments.

If you love a specific band or artist, look up whom they work with and put those companies on your list because nothing is more thrilling and satisfying than working for your FAVORITE artists and bands (I still get a thrill out of that and I've been working in the music industry for 14 years).

It's important to know what your goal is. After all, if you don't know where you want to go, how will you know how to get there? Marketing your music the correct way depends on having a defined goal. So, take some time and think about this. This is an important decision. And only you can make it.
