CCTV Connection Devices and Functions

To connect a CCTV device with a Digital Video Recorder (DVR), CCTV owners need connectivity.

Connectivity that supports only displaying images can be with BNC RCA and VGA, there is also an image accompanied by sound, namely HDMI and the resulting image is better than BNC RCA and VGA, of all there is something simpler using a Wifi connection, namely using a radio and requires no cables.

Now to find out the various connectivity that is usually used to connect CCTV to receiving devices such as monitors or DVRs, you must know the various existing connectivity, and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each of these connectivity, along with the review.

1.BNC-RCA (Bayonet Neill Concelman-Radio Corporation of America) connector

CCTV Cirebon - This is the connector that is usually used in decoders in cable TV. This connector is usually paired with a Coaxial Cable which is usually also used to connect to RCA video

Reliability in adjusting impedance (or resistance in electric current), which generally has units of ohms (symbol omega). So it is commonly used to test amateur radio, aviation electronic devices and so on.

The disadvantage of BNC remains that there is a maximum maximum length size so that the impedance can be adjusted as desired. What this means, the longer the cable used, the lower the quality of the picture or sound produced because the smaller the electric current is generated.

2.VGA (Video Graphics Array)

CCTV Cirebon - VGA connectivity may be a step ahead of the above because the image produced by VGA is of better quality than BNC RCA.

To connect CCTV sound to a VGA plug requires one additional connector, namely the TRS connector which is generally found on Analog CCTV.

VGA is a plug that is still popularly used for various computer devices as a receiver for displaying CCTV images.

However, the use of VGA plugs on CCTV seems to have begun to be abandoned, because its shape is a bit fat compared to HDMI which is the reason why this plug is starting to be abandoned.

In addition, the lack of VGA Input connectivity is also an obstacle. So users must need additional devices such as a Digital Video Recorder in order to receive the image display sent by CCTV with VGA connectivity.

3. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface)

CCTV Cirebon - HDMI plug is a plug that is currently on the rise, because of its reliability in providing audio and video display performance without any loss of quality. HDMI is the only cable that is supported by the world video and film industry, so it is highly recommended for its use by the wider community.

HDMI provides a complete audio and video transfer from a CCTV device to a DVR, not only complete, HDMI is also capable of sending high-resolution video to produce sharp images.

This is where the advantages of HDMI are highly promoted by many technology industry players, but behind the advantages there are still hidden weaknesses such as the maximum distance limit due to the use of copper.

The maximum distance that can be tolerated by an HDMI type cable is 10 meters, if it is too long, the resulting audio or video quality will decrease.

4.Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity)

CCTV Cirebon - But unfortunately, behind the advantages there are also weaknesses. A very fatal weakness is that the WIFI frequency has so far lost when competing with radio waves from the Microwave.

So, pay attention to the placement of this WIFI type CCTV, stay away from devices that have strong radio waves such as the Microwave. If this is not considered, the CCTV will not be connected when the microwave is working

Usually this connectivity is present on a digital CCTV device or IP Camera, to connect with an IP Camera besides having to turn on WI-FI on both devices (CCTV - Receiving Device), the owner is also required to do the installation.

Usually the installation process is very easy because it is done with a step by step guide. Regarding the advantages, CCTV devices that support WI-FI are actually not easy to disconnect if they are connected, unless the receiving device or CCTV is turned off.

Apart from that, high security. CCTV This type of WiFI uses the highest security standards as used by the United States Government.
