Your car is your prized possession which is also a recent purchase. Unfortunately, you bought a car that is more at the repairs than on the roads. You didn't expect a vehicle that's stationary for most of the time instead of zooming on the streets. All this indicates that you have a lemon on hand.

So what do you do now? If you reside in Oklahoma State and your vehicle is registered here, you need not worry. You have relief under the provisions of Oklahoma Lemon Law. Let's learn more.

What are the basics of the Oklahoma Lemon Law?

Every state has different lemon laws. It would be best to determine whether your vehicle meets the basic eligibility requirements before you set out to claim under the Lemon Law in Oklahoma

You should consider seeking legal advice from an attorney if your vehicle does not meet all or any of the qualifications listed below-

1 – The dealer or manufacture must be given a chance at a reasonable number of repair attempts

2 – The number of reasonable attempts under Oklahoma law stands at four

3 – Your vehicle is stationery or remains at the workshop or garage for at least 30 days or more.

4 –Validity within the warranty period or one year, whichever is sooner.

The remedies available to you

You should first try informal dispute resolution with the manufacturer if your vehicle meets the criteria under Oklahoma's Lemon Law.

If the above efforts fail to materialize, you should contact a lemon law attorney for legal assistance.

The remedies you are entitled to under this law includes

1 – A refund amount

2 – A comparable replacement with a new vehicle

When you choose to replace your lemon vehicle with a comparable new replacement vehicle or accept a refund, it includes

1 – All taxes

2 – License fees

3 – Registration charges

4 – Governmental fees, including the interest

Even if you qualify for a refund or replacement, you can still be charged for the mileage you run on the car in question.

How to build a lemon law claim

You have to retain the following information as documentary evidence to follow your lemon law claim

1 – Signed work orders, job reports, receipts, invoices, parts replacement, etc.

2 – Paperwork with the dates to show the car was under repairs and stationary

3 - All the communication you do with the dealership regarding the complaints
