Before the world of the internet and Facebook, life was so simple. You wanted to speak with a friend, you picked up the phone and called them. Or better yet, you actually visited the person. Life was simple for drink vending machines back then too. You put profit the machine and out came your drink. Wanted to buy a soda for your friend? First of website , he had to be with you or you're going straight to his home. You put in a few coins and handed him the drink - friendship renewed. But Pepsi includes a different view on what is simple and social. They're introducing new drink vending machines that allow you to "interact" with your friends and purchase them drinks. These drink vending machines are touchscreen and highly interactive, and also take a long time for you to get a soda. These new machines have three options: buy a drink, send/redeem something special, or random acts of refreshment. The initial option is easy and simple. Use the screen to scroll during your options, look at nutritional facts, and order your drink. The next option is where we get high-tech. If you're feeling rather generous, you can purchase a drink for a pal. The instructions are fairly straightforward. Pick the drink you would like to send, type in some information (which I'm assuming is name, the other person's cellphone number, etc), and record a personal video. This can be the part where one can be "social" and say hello to your friend and hope they benefit from the refreshing Pepsi. In more info are finished, your unsuspecting friend will get a text message telling him to go to his nearest interactive Pepsi machine to redeem his free drink. When you redeem, granted there is one of these brilliant drink vending machines nearby, just follow the steps and enter in your code, watch your video, and enjoy your refreshment. The last option is actually the one that is most admirable. Random acts of refreshment enables you to send drinks to strangers. But it isn't like winning the lotto. The drinks are delivered to somebody who is in need, for instance a person who lives in a city just struck by a tornado or a hurricane. Even though person would rather have a new house than a new Pepsi, the nice intention is still there, and that counts for something. Who would have thought drink vending machines could become so complicated? Pepsi has, without doubt, put big money into these new machines so we are able to also expect an increase in cost. But I suppose this is the price you pay, literally, to be social nowadays.
