10 Ways to Turn Your Part Time Job into a Full Time Job

Posted by Kruti Shah on May 21st, 2021

Not every part-time job is worth turning to a full-time gig. But if you have found a part-time opportunity in one of those brimming companies you always wanted to work in, you would want to turn it into a full-time job. Here’s how.

  1. Speak out

Don’t wait for an opportunity to be presented to you. Speak out and let them know that you are interested in a full-time gig. Talk with your superiors about how sincerely you are looking for a full-time job in the company.

  1. Be distinct

Fit in but don’t let your skills and talent be overshadowed by someone else. Be different in the work given to you. And most importantly, don’t give the credit of what you have done to someone else. Don’t be brag but always know when to speak up.

  1. Go above and beyond what is expected of you

You have to put in extra effort to get noticed. Be a little extra and don’t just reach out for reaching deadlines. If required stay late and take up extra assignments. Do anything you could for getting acknowledged. You need to give them a reason for hiring you and not someone from outside.

  1. Make an impression in everything you do

Attending a meeting? Don’t step in without rehearsing and jotting extra points that could make you stand apart. Go ahead and help your colleagues by offering an extra hand. Don’t just submit your work. Go ahead and offer suggestions or ways for better efficiency.

  1. Strive for perfection

Even when you can’t achieve perfection, don’t be below average. Never let opportunities arise where your quality of work remains questionable. If you are offered any suggestions, you must work on them. Lastly, never repeat a mistake.

  1. Be the solution seeker

Problems in any organization are always normal. Don’t be a crier, instead work on solutions. Offer your distinct point of view to your superiors and if required your boss. Let them know that you are worth putting bait on.

  1. Gel up with the team

Be unique at your work but also be a good team player. Not only your boss or superior, but even your team members also need to know your contribution. Be a person one can easily work with.

  1. Don’t be a lone wolf

Make friends with colleagues, if not personally, at least on a professional level. Lone wolves are not a perfect fit for organizations.

  1. Align yourself to company culture

Your values, ideologies, and beliefs should be in sync with the company’s vision and culture. These things may seem irrelevant in a personal context but an organization is always in the lookout for people who share the same values and ethics.

   10. Be upfront about your love for the company

If you genuinely love the company you need to be upfront about it. Be it on social media or in person.

The efforts are worth every dime if you are genuinely in love with the company. If not so, these things would make for better career prospects.
