Comparison Between new Isuzu Mu-X and the Old

According to the official digital model files released, we can see that the third generation Isuzu Mu-X hasn't really changed a great deal.

Isuzu didn't want to change its usual formula, which isn't to say that the Isuzu Mu-X is a bad formula. In fact, the Isuzu Mu-X formula is diverse and up to date with the times. Since the first truck was launched in 2004, it has brought a wide range of trucks: from heavy-duty trucks with rear-wheel drive, fabric seats and steel wheels, to 'lifestyle' trucks with four-wheel drive, leather seats and big alloys. I think Isuzu must have followed the motto "if it ain't broke, it's good to go". Another thing we know is that as each model changes, car manufacturers need to improve the performance of their models or cater to the needs of consumers, looking for features that will pique their interest. So with that said, let's compare the latest Isuzu Mu-X with the previous generation model, and from that, derive the improvements for the new generation.

Firstly, let's discuss their differences in terms of size. The new Isuzu Mu-X is 1870mm wide, 10mm wider than the current-gen model. The wheelbase has been extended from 30 mm to 3125 mm, which allows for more legroom and better stability in the cab. Another quality that may help improve stability is the changes to the suspension and steering system. Isuzu says the new Isuzu Mu-X has significantly improved stability when driving on rough roads. Design-wise, the new Isuzu Mu-X has a more eye-catching front end with an open grille in the middle and the tail lights have been redesigned with a significantly bolder and more aggressive shape. the headlights, rear lights with LED have also been changed slightly, depending on the different variants non-stop. The styling of the new Isuzu Mu-X makes you wonder what it would look like in Boondocks attire and whether it would look nothing like the old Isuzu Mu-X. The 2022 Isuzu Mu-X has thicker tyres, funkier wheels, higher shock absorbers and an overall more appealing look.

Next let's talk about the power dupes. Powering the new Isuzu Mu-X are two engines, the familiar previous generation 1.9 RZ4E diesel and an upgraded 3.0-litre 4JJ3-TCX engine. The new engine has 187 hp and 450Nm of torque, 20 hp more than the old engine. It also comes with a new six-speed manual or automatic transmission to manage the power of the RZ4E. The entry version of the Isuzu Mu-X has only rear-wheel drive, while the higher variant has four rear-wheel drive.

All variants of the Isuzu Mu-X, in addition to the single cab option, are available with welcome lights and walk away door locks. The highest configuration of the Isuzu Mu-X also comes with rain-sensitive wipers, an eight-speaker audio system and remote engine start. all Isuzu Mu-X's have a 4.2-inch HD display in the instrument cluster, as well as a 7-inch touchscreen display, offline navigation and clinometer. Users can connect to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth and Aux-in.

In terms of safety, the new Isuzu Mu-X goes beyond the standard safety equipment levels. In addition to the usual airbags, it boasts its stability control and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). It is important to mention, however, that only the range-top trim gets ADAS. ADAS is Isuzu's intelligent dual camera. It is capable of constantly mapping the surrounding area to measure the distance of every obstacle on the road. Adaptive cruise control keeps the pickup at a distance from the vehicle in front. It automatically activates the emergency braking application anchor when it believes a collision is unavoidable. Steering Assist Lane will brake to avoid an accident. Departure Warning will warn the driver with audio and visual cues when the vehicle is drifting out of its lane.

From the above discussion, we can conclude that the new Isuzu Mu-X does not have any major changes, but is still notable in this area of technical upgrades.
