Service Life of Working Layer for Ladle Furnace Designed by Changxing Refractory

Posted by annesheldon on March 23rd, 2016

Lalde furnace has been widely used in steel refining sector now, as a professional refractory manufacturer, Changxing Refractory has made lots of researches with the purpose of prolonging the service life of ladle furnace for our clients’. Now we would like to share our design for ladles working layer and corresponding service life based on our practical experience.?

The ladle furnace is divided into two types: Non-refining and Refining ladle according to the different output of steel product.?

1.?Non refining ladle, which is mainly applied for carbon steel.?

A. 50-80 heats. Using Alumina-magnesia Spinel brick as working layer. This proposal is specially applied for Ladle with the capacity of less than 50 Tons.?
B. 80-120 heats. Using?Magnesia Alumina Carbon brick?and?Magnesia Carbon brick?.?
C. 80-130 heats. Using Magnesia-magnesia spinel castable.?

2.?Refining ladle, it is mainly applied for producing higher standard steel. Such as alloy steel, stainless steel.?

A. 50-100 heats (Alloy steel application). Using?Magnesia Alumina Carbon brick?, Alumina Magnesia Carbon brick andMagnesia Carbon brick?.?
B. Stainless steel application.
a) 25-35 heats. Using?Low Carbon brick.?
b) 60-90 heats. Using Magnesia Calcium brick or Magnesia Calcium Carbon brick.
c) 120-160 heats. Using Corundum Spinel Castables and prefabricated impact plate at the bottom + Carbon free prefabricated plate at the wall +?Magnesia Carbon brick?at slag line area.??

The aforementioned proposals are actual feedbacks from our clients. It could be variable as per the different production process and refining period. So just tell us your current working situation and capacity of your ladle, Changxing engineers will customized the suitable design for you. With more than 30 years’ experience in refractory sector, Changxing is also available for whole design proposal for EAF, Tundish and Induction furnace etc. Here we are warmly welcome your inquiry or any other technical questions.
