  • Oral Language Development: Includes enhanced listening Comprehension, expanding vocabolary, and fostering extended conversational proficiency. Engaging in oral language activities holds significance in nurturing reading and writing skills.

  • Decoding: Involves figuring out what words mean by knowing how letters or symbols are connected to their sounds.

  • Reading Fluency: It describes the skill of reading a text proficiently, involving precision, speed (automaticity), expression (prosody), and comprehension, enabling children to derive meaning from the text. While many children can identify aksharas, they often read them slowly and painstakingly, one at a time.

  • Reading Comprehension: This domain encompasses the skills related to comprehending texts, extracting information from them, and also the ability to interpret texts.

  • Writing: This includes the skills of writing aksharas and words, as well as the art of writing to convey thoughts and emotions.

Foundational Numeracy

It means the capacity for logical thinking and the practical use of basic numerical principles when tackling everyday problems. The primary elements and building blocks of early mathematics include: 

  • Pre-number Concepts: The process of counting and grasping the number system.

  • Numbers and Operations on Numbers: Acquire the conventions essential for becoming proficient in mathematical skills, including understanding how to use a base ten system for numerical representation.

  • Shapes and Spatial Understanding: Execute basic calculations in their unique manner involving numbers up to three digits, and then employ these skills in various real-life scenarios.

  • Measurement: Comprehend and apply conventional algorithms to perform operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with numbers containing up to three digits.

  • Data Handling: Recognize and expand upon simple patterns, beginning with repeating shapes and progressing to numerical patterns, interpret basic data and information in one's everyday life activities.
