The Problems of Hand Lay-up method

Now days, fiberglass chopped strand mat the Fiber reinforced Plastic (FRP) product are usually factory-made by the Hand lay-up or spray-up method. Hand Lay-up method may be a straightforward methodology and economically low cost method w.r.t. other ways of FRP product producing. We will talk about concerning automatic lay-up methodology of producing of corrugated fibreglass roofing sheets, now days, producing by Hand Lay-up method, this method done by manually with the assistance of equipments, it consists of open mould, brush, squeeze roller. Fibreglass is that the composite material of resin and chopped glass fiber strand or fiber glass mats. This method is easy and economical for production of FRP product, however some issues are arise from these method specified,

• Production rate of furrowed fibreglass sheet is low i.e. roughly 50-60 sheets per day (i.e. 12 hr. shift.),
• Thickness of sheet isn't uniform. fiberglass chopped strand mat
• Lay-up method doesn't perform uniformly i.e. once perform lay-up of resin on mould; the number of resin isn't taken with certain quantity for lay-up on mold surface.
• Resins are harmful to human.
• Fiberglass strand doesn't uniformly sprayed on mould, therefore, strength of sheet doesn't uniform on sheet.

These higher than issues are eliminated; Hand lay-up method is converted into Automatic Lay-up method fiberglass chopped strand mat.
