7 ways to get traffic to your blog

If you are a blogger you are probably looking for traffic. This post will explain some simple and effective ways to get visitors to your blog.

1. Forums - this is something you can do while taking a break from everything. Just join a forum and set your blog link as the signature. Then just comment around the forum or share what you find interesting. I got hundreds of visitors a day just by doing that. But the thing is, it only last for few days. Very limited period of time compared to other methods.

An average visitor you get through a Google search won?t go through your blog. They come, they read what they were looking for, and then they leave. But the visitors you get from a forum will go through your blog. (The theory behind it is that the people on forum are bored. They just want something interesting to kill time on)

2. Post link - another effective way is commenting related articles in other blogs. Don?t forget to leave the link to your blog. But please don?t spam. Just be genuine. A link posted on a blog will last longer than a post in a forum.

3. Use keywords - When writing something, focus on keywords related to the topic and make sure it has them. This will help in terms of search engine optimization (SEO). You can find the keywords by using Google Adwords. It?s free! So why no use it. And also don?t forget your readers are human. So write meaningful content, not just stupid keywords.

4. Write daily - Google bots love frequent updating blogs. It?ll help bring your blog to top of search results in Google. In internet, a week is a month and a month is a year. So try to update daily. Then checking your blog will be one of the things your readers will do everyday.

5. Buy a domain name - This will become a huge advantage. This will place your blog right on top of Google search results. Its way more better than using free domains.

6. Make it simple - Simplicity in terms of layout. Less widgets and other stuff like that will make the pages load faster. Always remember, not everyone has a faster internet connection like you do. And nobody likes waiting till a site finish loading.

7. Stick to one subject - Stock updates n funny stories doesn?t go along. So don?t post both. Stick to one. If you really can?t stop posting both, just start another blog. Focus is important.

Well apart from those you may also use an analytic tool to see how many visitors you are getting, how many page views you are getting, from what way are you getting most visitors from. Focus on them.
