There are a few basic questions to consider when deciding where to study overseas. Look at these questions you will need to answer to ensure you make all the right choices. For anyone applying to study overseas, there are many questions to answer throughout the process. Overseas education is complex, but students have many options to choose from.

  • How long can I stay away from family and home?

Even those who are very close to their family, friends and home life, gradually adapt to studying overseas, making new friends and becoming independent. If you think that you can only stay for a certain time abroad then consider opting courses of shorter duration. Rather than studying a three or four yearlong undergraduate degree, you can study an associate’s degree which is just for two years. Try considering a postgraduate degree after it as master’s are usually just a year long.

  • Am I a city or rural person?

You might have not thought about this before, but some prefer one over the other. The city life can be overwhelming for some but thrilling for others. Similarly, rural life can be boring or inconvenient for some, while pleasure for others.

  • Can I cook myself?

Some accommodations in the campus area do have an option of meal plan included with them; this means dinner and maybe sometimes breakfast is included in the rent. But you might get bored with the same menu again and again. Its better you know some cooking as it can be fun sometimes and is an essential life skill when living alone.

  • Can I share a room with another student?

This is something you should be sure about. If you are the only child or an introvert, can you live with someone who will be a stranger to you at first? If you are living with flatmates, consider how many maximum people you can live with?

  • Should I pursue an interest or career?

It is very important to keep the post-study life in mind when applying abroad and you should also study something you are passionate about.

  • What are the work options available after my overseas education?

Some countries have major industries, which makes finding graduate positions in those places simpler. Many businesses have UK headquarters located in London and hence make the city attractive for Business and Finance graduates. Overseas education can be a very fun thrilled experience.
