Or Here?

The Tao of Sleep

When it comes to healing, strength, longevity, and living in harmony with the planet and its various inhabitants, both human and nonhuman, it’s only prudent to buy Green or eco-friendly products, especially when purchasing furniture, since furniture often represents a serious investment in a person’s domestic and personal life. For example, when a piece of furniture becomes obsolete, it usually ends up polluting the natural environment as a long-term resident of a landfill. The number of mattresses and box-springs made from toxic materials that end up in landfills must be astronomical and that number increases every single day. There’s a lot of research in the world that documents the variety of negative reactions and nasty symptoms that many people experience when sleeping a conventional spring mattress manufactured with unnatural, unsafe materials, such as synthetic clothe. I’m of anyone having any negative reactions to sleeping a mattress made of latex, so take the time to do your own research before buying a new mattress, and you consider a platform made of natural hard wood, such as walnut or even bamboo, which is one of the most renewable resources on the planet because it grows like a hyperactive weed.

Along with its orthopedic value and ecological reputation, latex mattresses also provide other health benefits. One example to illustrate this fact is that latex repels dust-mites for the most part because they prefer unhealthy environments, so it’s fair to say that latex has significantly less dust mites than a conventional mattress made of unnatural ingredients. In fact, dust mites are known to reproduce by the billion mattresses made from synthetic, petroleum-based materials. Some research has shown that one cause of disease and sickness and disease is having an allergic reaction to dust-mites and their toxic waste-products. Here is a list of common symptoms: sneezing, coughing, rashes, itching, fatigue, insomnia and other annoying reactions. And many would say that box-spring mattresses are too bouncy, so think about buying your children a trampoline.

The Way of Milk

It shouldn’t be surprising to know that these kinds of health-related issues happened much less if ever with products made from natural materials during earlier periods of time. If fact, using all-natural materials was commonplace with humanity for thousands of years. Consider pasteurized milk: For many centuries, human-beings drank raw, unpasteurized milk without getting sick. It wasn’t until Louie Pasteur came along and screamed “Fire!” and “Germs!” that milk became a culprit. It wasn’t until blatant commercialism lost control that cow-dung began to infect the milk on a daily basis, making it necessary to boil it so it would not kill people. Today, more and more states in the United States are declaring the right to legalize the retail sale of raw milk, which is the kind of milk that our founding mothers drank every day. In other words, the only thing better for an infant that mother’s milk is raw milk. So, think about buying a cow and consider an eco-friendly latex mattress.
