91 Genera & 1,000 Species of Bambuseae (bamboo) Tribe

Within over 100 genera, bamboo plants include over 1,000 species of woody, perennial grasses. Botanical scientists place them in the Bambuseae tribe and a grass family called Poaceae, which has at least 600 genera and about 10,000 species. Unless you’re a mathematician, this is a bit mind boggling, to say the least. Grasses range in size from monumentally tall timber bamboo (dendrocalamus giganteus) to small annuals (poa annua). A lot of people believe that bamboo is the most important plant family on Earth because it provides of its many uses, and Panda bears actually eat it. However, these bamboo grasses are a relatively recent member of the earth's flora. In fact, it’s been around for about 35 million years, which is long time after dinosaurs disappeared. Vast grasslands of bamboo provided food for herbivorous mammals, and they were a source of food for a wide variety of carnivores. Some plants referred to as bamboo are actually not a type grass. The small bamboo plants that people have in their homes are grown in vases of water are called draceana sanderana, a member of the lily family (Liliaceae). Some botanists also place this mini, curly domesticated bamboo it in the agavaceae family. Welcome to the amazing and versatile world of the renewable resource known as bamboo.

Renewable Bamboo—Let’s Do It Again

Commercially, bamboo takes many forms. In fact, is suffers from a natural personality disorder that can never be healed with medication or any amount of misguided psychotherapy, and that’s what makes it so beautiful—It’s ultimately immune to human manipulation. Nevertheless, from the point of view of human civilization, bamboo has sacrificed its life for such useful things as streetball bats, exercise sticks, flooring, food for Panda bears, eco-friendly pilings for the elevated houses of low-income people from all over the world who are threatened by monsoons and natural disasters every year, not to mention crawling insects that, fortunately, get dizzy from high altitudes, as well as various types of modern furniture like platform beds and dining room tables.

Modern Bedroom Furniture versus Living in a Cave

An Alternate Reality

When I consider all of the quotes I’ve heard in my life, one of them stands out, when it comes to being influential. Forgive me for paraphrasing, but as I remember the saying it goes like this: “Less is more”. In spite of the influence this quote has had on me and so many other people that I know, I often wonder what this cryptic statement actually means in reality. On the surface it seems like a contradiction, but it’s actually a paradox. Does it mean that the less you have the more empty your life is? Or does it mean that the less possessive we are, the more complete our lives are? What would it be like if we were homeless and had nothing but the clothes we were wearing and the few dollars we had in our pocket? What if the only place you had to sleep was a small closet or a lonely cave? I can’t imagined what it would be like to be homeless.

Another Reality

Let’s say that you had enough money to create a different reality for yourself, one where you could surround yourself with all the things that you truly desired, within reason, of course. What would you buy first or last? A lot of new clothing? A big new car? A big new house? A pair of German shepherds? A swimming pool? A yacht? A small island in the Caribbean? A space-ship to take you to another galaxy? If you won the lottery, what would you spend all that money on? Most people who win lotteries, waste that money on frivolous stuff, and the money runs out in heartbeat. Instead, they could spend their money on things that matter, things that would really enrich their lives.

A True Reality

If you don’t live in a cave and if you don’t want to sleep on the floor or have a bedroom, then you need to surround yourself with attractive and eco-friendly bedroom furniture. Otherwise, you’ll go insane, and we wouldn’t want that to happen. So, if want to live in true reality and not feel guilty about purchasing toxic bedroom furniture that will eventually pollute the environment, then find a Green company that can fulfill your ultimate dreams with beautiful and modern bedroom furniture set.  This is for sure a better place and a more comfortable living style than a cave.
