If you have larger than normal pupils then you must discuss the matter with your doctor as well. It might cause issues such as halos or glare during low light conditions. Having dry eyes is also something to be considered, since LASIK can aggravate the condition. You must also consider that LASIK is not covered by most health insurance plans. The cost of LASIK surgery has fallen over the years, but it is still a significant expense that you will need to bear out of your pockets.

Complications during the surgery

In about 3-4% of cases, the patients may not have the desired results and may need to still use prescription glasses or contact lenses. They may opt for further corrective surgeries. In very rare cases complications may cause degradation of vision which cannot be corrected with prescription glasses or debilitating visual symptoms such as glare, double vision, halos etc.
