MET uses certified S-Pedelec helmet

More and more people are traveling with the pedelec or S-Pedelec. With this development, safety standards must also keep pace. That's why MET actively participated in the design of the new safety standard to NTA 8776 - and now presents a specific S-Pedelec helmet that meets this safety standard.

At present, there is no EU standard for S-Pedelec helmets. That is why well-known helm providers have developed their own standard. Name NTA 8776. It was created under the direction of the NEN (Standards Institute for the Netherlands), which plays a pioneering role in this field. The aim is to develop a proposal for a new European standard. Members of the so-called "Helmets for S-EPAC Cyclists" are already on the market with special NTA 8776-certified S-Pedelec helmets. Also here: the Italian helmet supplier MET.

To clarify the technical differences, MET presents a short video that illustrates the test conditions according to the conventional EN standard for bicycle helmets and the new NTA standard.

In addition to working on the new NTA 8776 standard, MET paid special attention to "identifying the needs of urban e-bike riders and incorporating them into the development of the new MET."

The key to greater urban safety - especially at dusk and in the dark - is 360-degree visibility. Therefore, MET has equipped the lower part of the shell with the reflective material. In addition, with this MET model, a USB LED light can be fixed to the rear adjustment system.

In addition, the eyes need at higher S-Pedelec speed eye protection, which can conveniently add quickly and remove just as quickly. MET Solution: A magnetically fixed visor that protects the eyes without restricting the field of view. According to the provider, it can be easily and quickly removed. Finally, the magnetic chinstrap closure of the "Grantors" offers maximum comfort when closing and opening the helmet.
