Investment in modular and modular technology ramps up Pri Trade America

To  get an insight into what is happening in investment in the modular home industry, take a look at the company Katerra.

SoftBank recently invested 5 million in the company.

The company aims to be able to take on whole construction pipelines with its enhanced balance sheet.

CEO Marks says that this will help assure big customers that they can do it.

Katerra doesn’t build the whole home – it focuses on pre-assembled walls with in-built windows, and says it can speed up construction time significantly.

The walls can be any size you like.    Each project will get developed in the most efficient way around it’s design requirements.

The company is mostly doing multi-family residential projects, with 12 projects on the go at the beginning of 2018, and around 30 in the pipeline.

Because Katerra is a big buyer and controls material purchase, it can deliver higher end finishes than other modular manufacturers.

The company is opening a factory in Spokane, WA – time floors and support beams will be built there.   More factories are planned, adding to a workforce that already numbers 1300.

Marks, CEO, is very focused on software, a large professional services element, efficient supply chain, and construction.    He think it’s important to bring together all the services, and deliver them as one.   It just makes more sense to the customer.
