Exercise and Gym Equipment- The Key to Human Fitness

Fitness is not a new concept, humans have always been in shape. Even when we were Cro-Magnons, we had to run, hunt, and digest raw food which itself was a lot of body workout. Then fitness was accounted to warfare, where people train in order to fight and win battles, but today fitness is a choice and not necessity. We want to stay fit as a personal goal and not to survive. So today, gyms are our battlefield and gym equipment is our weapon.

Equipment Packages-

Now, there is no single exercise or machine for everything, different exercises and equipment cater to different body needs and muscle types. Cardio to improve stamina and shred weight, weight training for muscle gain, and yoga for body flexibility. There is a complete commercial fitness equipment package for different people and goals. These equipment packages are vastly directed towards 3 goals or exercise type-

  • Aerobic Exercises-

These types of exercises are directed to enhance one’s cardiovascular fitness. While performing these exercises one's lungs are put to use and their oxygen pumping capability is put on trial. Generally, these exercises are done for long durations of time. Aerobic exercises secure long-term physical fitness. Exercises like cycling, running, swimming and more are called aerobic exercises.

  • Anaerobic Exercises-

This particular type of exercises focusses on building muscular strength through resistance training and heavy weightlifting. This type of workout improves your overall strength, gives a sense of balance, upright the bone structure, and progresses coordination. Exercises like heavy weight lifting, jumping etc. are termed as anaerobic exercises.

  • Flexibility Exercises-

Now flexibility exercises like yoga help you to keep full control of your body and the newly gained muscles. This improves your motion and removes any limit to your body movement.

Different People Different Exercises-

All these exercises require different pieces of equipment tailored for different muscles of the body. Aerobic exercise involves machinery like a treadmill, gym cycle and more. Women in the gym are more drawn towards aerobic exercises to tone their body and reduce mass. This involves a lot of gymnastics, dance sessions, and general athletic training. On the other hand, the male half is more into anaerobic training with heavy weights and machines. These involve the use of heavy lifting machines, rowing machines, bench press, and more.

Popular Exercises-

In any typical gym, the popular aerobic machinery are treadmills and cycles. In short duration, they act as a mild warmup and in long-duration turns into an aerobic session. On the other hand, horizontal leg press, lat pull down, cable biceps and triceps bar, chest press and more are used for muscle buildup.

Exercise the key to human survival-

Looking back at the pages of great human history, you find fit humans, with a great posture and muscles. Now what do you think, will the generations after us will feel the same way, will the appreciate our fitness? No! we need to make a benchmark for our children and let them know we are more than fast food and obesity. Regular exercise is the human legacy and our only means to survival.
