School of Rock will be coming to DeVos Place Convention Center in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, the United States on January 8th-13^th. Based on a cult film written by Mike White from 2003 with the same name as the musical, School Of Rock is a rock musical with musical scores from Andrew Lloyd Webber, Lyrics from famous Glenn Slater, and a reference book from Julian Fellowes. The Story Follows Dewey Finn, who is a jobless Rockstar with a dream to get big someday. He somehow founds his way to a prestigious music school, “Horace Green Prep School” as a substitute teacher. There he is given a class of sheer proper kids, who he finds out later are full of hidden talent. He finds it is his duty to awaken their talents and works to make into rock stars. He then forms a rock band with these kids in attempts at winning the upcoming Battle of the Bands.
