Posted by Run For Charity on January 15th, 2019

When you take the plunge and decide to participate in a charity running event, not only do you pledge to raise money for your chosen charity, you also of contribute in many other ways different ways. Wondering what these might be?  When you run for charity, you become an ambassador of your charity and you support them by representing their cause and creating awareness within your community via your fundraising efforts.  Sounds strange? Well, this is exactly what happens, often our charity runners finding themselves addicted to overwhelming feeling and continuing to support their cause long after they have completed the fundraising event, with many signing up for additional events. www.runforcharity.com is the ultimate hub where charities, international events & charity supporters come together with a shared goal of contributing towards the charities missions. Year on year we continue partner with more charities and international events which in turn see higher numbers of fundraisers sign up for events through our website.  Visit our website for the most comprehensive list of ethical fundraising events and an extensive choice of causes to support.

Run for a Nobel Cause

At Run for Charity we continue to work with events who have also pledged to support our charities by being transparent and keeping fees and registrations to the absolute minimum. This is great news – keeping your fundraising efforts where they should be, with the charity and directed to the cause you support! When you choose your cause, you are entrusted by the charity to call for donations from your family, friends & colleagues. Most charities will set a specific fundraising target that should be met. It is your responsibility to accomplish (or smash) that target and there are many fun and fantastic ways to reach your fundraising goals.

How to Prepare?

When it comes to preparing for your charity running event, it will very much depend on which type of event you select. If it’s a full marathon that you are targeting, in that case, you need to prepare yourself over a period of at least 6 month and undergo intensive endurance training. However if you select a fun run, 5k or 10k event, the preparation will require much less training and time. Whatever option you choose, remember, it is your participation and support that truly matters – not the distance! Run for charity hosts a range of training plans that will ensure you are physically ready to take on your charity run.
