Lastly, stress in living also promotes divorce. Individuals in the considerable global pressures of earning are vulnerable to divorce. This problem occurs in many societies. Many individuals get laid off from their jobs. Consequently, different stress ranging from social to economic in the family promotes divorce. Many marriages earn money but insufficient in covering expenses and makes it easy to think of divorce.
Divorce is a process leading to change and extends over an extended period across many areas of family functioning. Where there is divorce, there exist differences in family processes as well as in children’s change accommodation. According to Vélez, Clorinda and others, there are definite relationships between divorce and psychological problems facing children from divorced families (Vélez, Clorinda E., et al...244-257). we have six primary areas of human functioning that many researchers feel that they are affected by divorce in early in life. These are mental health services, externalizing of problems like delinquency, internalizing problems like depression, intellectualism and academic growth, pro-social skills; and functioning in adult life. If divorce happens and children get exposed to these effects, the outcome is usually a disorganized member of society who is a nuisance. The impact of enlargement on the rates of divorce continues to be adverse. Many couples usually have children at the time they divorce. Consequently, divorce directly affects their children. Children from divorced or single-parent families probably get pregnant at teenage. They drop out of school because of the life trauma. They also end up abusing drugs and develop aggressive behavioral deviation. This situation leads to social problems like crime and street children. Many children go out of homes and become homeless. I am sure nobody wishes his child to pass such life. Such children lack better opportunities to get jobs due to lack of education. According to Al Gharaibeh, children also end up being faced with double responsibilities (Al Gharaibeh 347-368). They have to help the single parent in carrying out house activities meant for the absent parents. This situation limits the children’s time to study and in the end, the academic performance drops. Divorce also may lead to child absents. This situation occurs when the single parents are so committed to the work to the extent that he becomes unable to supervise the schooling of the child. Psychologically the child suffers, especially when the peers intimidate him or her on lacking both parents around. Living standards may also drop in case the parents used to contribute to raising the family. This situation may lead to lacking proper basic needs like food and shelter. In case the parent remarries, the child may become vulnerable to abuses if the step parent is not caring. Children may turn to fend for themselves or enter into child prostitution in cases they are young girls. Divorce can also force children into child labor. Lack of parental love coupled with supervision makes the children drop from the home. As a result, crime becomes the outcome. All this are adverse effects that parents allow their children to go through when they divorce of the recent expansion in divorce rates. The choice is now your, make your kids suffer or make them live generally.
In conclusion, the family remains an important constituent of the society, and, therefore, people need better be aware of the importance of relationship in the family. In the contemporary society, divorce continues to become a substantial problem due to the changing roles of women, life stress in the modern life and poor or lack communication. Nevertheless, the effects on children are far reaching. Many couples, without kids end up in divorce through consent and divorce should, therefore, be a real solution to couples of such setting. Contrary, many couples with children in the family need to reason deliberatively and objectively before ending the marriage through divorce. If this issue does not get into consideration, innocent children become victims. Whether legal or not, the victims, who suffer both actively and passively are children. Despite the fact that people think critically before getting married, divorce increases at an alarming rate. It is, therefore, wise for people to devise ways to prevent this social vice by addressing the causes highlighted. Failure to carry out the intervention will promote crime, suffering to the children and destruction of family institutions that are the basis for any given society.
