Tech giant Apple is going to lower the price of the iPhone in some countries. With this, the company wants to respond to the strong exchange rate of the dollar written by iStorify.

Apple CEO announced the plans after the presentation of the most recent quarterly figures. He did not yet want to tell which countries can expect a price reduction. Because it is a reaction to the dollar exchange rate, the price will probably not fall in the United States.

According to Cook, the iPhone will cost the same as previous models a year earlier. Apple in many countries the price in 2018 slightly increased to the rising value of the dollar to absorb. "By falling back on old prices in some markets, we hope to sell more iPhones there," says Cook in a conversation with Reuters.

Chinese stores recently lowered the price of the iPhone after the company announced that it expects disappointing quarterly results. Those quarterly figures were presented on Tuesday evening.

The tech company saw sales from iPhone sales fall by 15 per cent compared to a year earlier. It is the second time that Apple lowers the prices of iPhones. The company did the same shortly after the first iPhone was introduced in 2007. This was then not sold in the Netherlands.
