Toad Migration Helper wantedPosted by Coco on March 26th, 2019 The temperatures are rising: frogs, toads, and newts are making their way from their winter quarters to the spawning grounds. Protective fences are already set up. Now the station is planning nature and environmental amphibious rescue operations so Lurch & Co will safely cross the road. The station is looking for volunteers - children are welcome as well. The rescue operations are scheduled for Friday and Saturday (22 and 23 March 2019) and 29 and 30 March. Meeting point is at 7 pm at the parking lot of Sch-loss Steinbeck. The helpers should have rubber boots, safety vests or reflective tapes and bring a small bucket and flashlights. Registration is not necessary. If the temperatures drop below eight degrees on the scheduled dates, the amphibians will not migrate. Then the action has to be moved. Like it?
