Are Physical Copies Of Antivirus Softwares Obsolete Now?

Desktop and Laptop PCs are incredibly useful nowadays. Even with the exponential surge in mobile phones, especially smartphones, things are not at all looking grim for desktops as well as laptops. The main issue to address right now is privacy and safety.

Privacy online is a myth, as quite a few people would tell. But it is not all dark and gloomy. In fact, with the right practices and good enough measures, anyone can take care of their privacy online. It doesn’t have to be incredibly tough to handle certain parameters.

Right now, there are multiple software and applications that are being prepared in such a way that using those would compromise on certain aspects of your privacy. In order to get these specific applications running smoothly, people do tend to give away certain things.

For example, certain applications track your real-time location. In order to provide seamless service, knowing your location is necessary for them. However, a lot of us don’t like that particular feature.

It is completely one’s choice whether to reveal certain details or not. But forcing people into softly giving away their information is not meaningful. In the same way, once this is done, people venture into the massive infobahn.

There is no doubt over the fact that the internet is an incredible mystery. There is not one soul on the planet who can guarantee that they know potentially everything about the internet. It all boils down to who has experienced the major avenues that the digital ocean has to throw at us.

For one’s own safety while browsing or using the internet through various applications, antivirus software is necessary. Earlier, antivirus software used to be sold to the masses through blank DVD printing. Then, people would get that specific disc home, get the software installed and later, clean up their PCs.

However, with access to high-speed internet, antivirus software is updating every other day. Any software with a delay in a week’s update can pretty much be termed as outdated. It is actually insane how many new bugs, glitches, and viruses are released into the market and caught at the same time.

The number of malicious sources is growing day by day with a considerable increase in the number of digital resources side by side. This isn’t exactly a hassle for anyone, but staying updated right now matters more than anything.

With such frequent updates, does it even make sense to purchase a physical copy of an antivirus? Sure the brands will make it meaningful enough with timely updates, but purchasing the same online makes more sense now. Unless something drastic is thought of, physical copies will go obsolete rather quickly.
