Use Heat Transfer Vinyl to Design the Products

Heat transfer vinyl in Atlanta is easily available. It is a special vinyl polymer that can be used on certain fabrics and materials to create designs and promotional products. The adhesive on the vinyl is activated when the heat is applied. Vinyl is a man made material; it is a type of plastic made from ethylene and chlorine. It has got various applications because of its ability to combine with various additives and modifiers. Heat transfer vinyl (HTV) is the answer to the personalizing projects. It can be used to make designs of one’s own choice and give a shape to one’s personality.

Heat transfer Vinyl comes in sheets, rolls and packs. There is a front and a back side in vinyl. The front side is the shiny side. The back side is the dull side which should be cut when the design is to be created. This dull side also contains the heat-activated adhesive. Heat activated adhesive are sticky at certain temperatures as the chemicals start forming bond at that temperature. Adhesive vinyl sheets and rolls are different as these are sticky from the beginning, unlike of heat transfer vinyl.

There are various categories of heat transfer vinyl based on their applications :

Universal Heat Transfer Vinyl : This type of vinyls can be used for every type of application and these can be activated at low temperatures.


Standard Heat transfer Vinyl : This is used for classic designs and applied to cotton, polyester and blends.


Stretchable Heat Transfer Vinyl : This is used for garments that gets stretched.


Glossy Heat Transfer Vinyl : This vinyl gives a more attractive look as compared to the general ones.


Flock Heat Transfer Vinyl : It is a unique heat transfer vinyl which gives are soft to touch. It is very useful for embroidery purposes.


There are many advantages of heat transfer vinyl. It has very good durability and an extremely professional look as this utilizes the durability of the heat transfer vinyl method with the photo-realism of a printer. For dark color garments or the fabrics through which it is difficult to penetrate, heat transfer vinyl can be of significant use.


Some precautions should be taken while using heat transfer vinyl. It is preferable to cover the plastic carrier sheet with a piece of parchment paper or thin cotton fabric as this helps to protect the surface.
