Getting married is one of the most exciting times of your life! It’s a big day where you’re surrounded by friends, family, but most importantly the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with. It’s no secret that everyone dreams of the most perfect wedding, but no one really talks about the frustrations that come with planning a wedding. Sure, there’s a lot that goes into it, but it’s all worth it especially when you get to pick out your dress. The dress. Most women say they’ve dreamed of the day they get to pick out their wedding dress since they were little girls. There will be smiles, laughter, and possibly happy tears when the big day comes. And when we say, “big day”, we don’t mean your wedding day. We mean the wedding dress shopping day. The most important thing you can do before you go wedding dress shopping is doing your research. Do your research on the styles, fabrics, and options out there. One of the best ways to do that is by knowing about all the trending wedding dresses of the year. It’s a good place to start if you’re not sure where to begin and who knows, maybe you’ll gain wedding dress inspiration along the way. Here are three of the trending wedding dresses to look out for in 2020.

Ball Gowns

You can’t have a wedding dress list without the most popular wedding dress style. The ball gown style is by far the most timeless wedding dress style and perfect for any body type. The ball gown wedding dress is your typical Cinderella-style wedding dress. It’s form-fitting on the top and then flares or poofs out at the waistline. Most of the time this dress style is strapless with a heart-shaped neckline, but it’s not limited to. Ball gown wedding dresses can be tulle, sparkle, lace, and so much more. Whichever you decide, this dress will always be trending which means you can’t go wrong.

Ruffles

This has to be our favorite and we’re most excited to see it in 2020. If you were to ask a bride to try on a dress with ruffles 10 or even 5 years ago, she would have gone running for the hills. These days, we embrace ruffles. Most of the time they’re subtle, flattering ruffles that add enough character to the wedding dress without taking any of the spotlight off of you. Don’t expect to see 100% ruffled dresses in 2020. The ruffled wedding dresses that are on our trending radar are typically ruffled skirts that are balanced out with a more laid-back neckline and top. If you are really looking to make a statement and turn heads on your wedding day, try on a ruffled skirt that can be detached for your reception.

Minimalism

Ever since Meghan Markle stepped out in her simple, yet elegant wedding dress in 2018 people have been embracing the trend of a minimal dress. Since then, it’s continued to trend every year. It’s one of those “less is more” things that we have to agree with. A minimal style wedding dress is one that is simple, elegant and an option that you should at least try on to see how it looks. Minimal wedding dresses have no sparkle, beads, lace, or extra embellishments. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t sparkle. Most women who are embracing this style finish offer the look with a bedazzled hairpiece or bouquet. Accessorizing to balance off the look will wow your guests and leave you feeling elegant.
