Anger, anxiety, and sadness are not good emotional baggage to carry all the time. They not only reduce the quality of your life but they can also contribute to the appearance of diseases. Holding on to these negative emotions can cause you to suffer from severe illnesses.

But here are some ways on how you can release these negative emotions and allow your energy to flow once again:

  1. Choose a physical fitness routine.

Exercise is always a good outlet for pent-up emotions such as anger and anxiety. When you exercise, you can also help your body in producing good hormones that can improve mood.

Incorporating at least 30 minutes of exercise to your day can go a long way in releasing negative emotions. It can also help in managing stress hormones which can contribute to these negative emotions.

Find an exercise routine that you will love and will want to stick with. For instance, rather than go to the gym, go out for a walk or a jog instead. The added outdoor time can also help in releasing your negative emotions.

  1. Have a creative outlet.

Many people find working with their hands therapeutic. It is a way for them to release their stress and channel their anger or sadness into something creative. Their output also brings so much joy and sense of purpose.

Try having a creative outlet. Whether it is doing arts and crafts or creating new things such as clothes, bags, or furniture.

Find something you are good at or something that interests you and learn the skills needed to be good at them. Set aside at least an hour of every day trying these creative activities.

  1. Let it all out in writing.

Writing it all down can feel cathartic. It is like releasing all of these negative emotions without you having to talk about it to another person face to face. You can even start a blog to talk about your daily experiences and your daily healing process. Many people also receive support from their blog readers and this can help with their anger issues as well.

  1. Share it with a support group.

They say that if you share your problems with other people, you reduce your burden. Something inside you gets released when you talk about what is weighing you down with others, even with complete strangers. In fact, some people say it is easier to talk to strangers about their personal issues because they don’t have to worry about being judged. There are a lot of support groups you can turn to if you need help.
