Dental Works 4 Kids was developed with the vision of creating “Healthy Smiles for a Lifetime” for our patients.  Our commitment has been to provide the highest standard of specialized and comprehensive oral healthcare for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special needs.

As one of the only comprehensive pediatric-orthodontic dental offices in the Vaughan area, we offer a rare opportunity to take care of the pediatric dental and orthodontic needs of our patients in one convenient location.

At Dental Works 4 Kids we understand that many children become anxious in the dental office and cannot relax or sit still long enough for the dentist to treat them. We are proud to say that we are one of the first offices to offer sedation dentistry for both examination and corrective work to be accomplished in a safe and comfortable environment, allowing your child to better cope with dental treatment.

For the pediatric dental needs of our patients we provide:

•    Comprehensive dental care for infants, children and young adults starting at 12 months of age (as recommended by the Canadian and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry)
•    A kid-friendly environment including video games and television’s in ALL our private operatories
•    Child and parent education on prevention of tooth decay and gum disease
•    Focus on behaviour management techniques that are individualized to the temperament of the child, promoting a lifetime of good dental attitude and habits
•    Treatment options including Nitrous Oxide, Oral Conscious Sedation, and on-site General Anaesthesia (Dentistry Asleep) with a medical anesthesiologist

For our orthodontic patients we have a unique two-phase treatment approach. Our philosophy is to incorporate the concept of full facial enhancement and early preventative treatment, rather than simply straightening teeth. We believe in employing a health-based approach, providing an effective assessment of our patient’s airway, sleep, and myofunctional practices to improve long-term stability. It is recommended by the Canadian and American Association of Orthodontics that every child should have an orthodontic assessment by age 7.

Our Methods of treatment can avoid extraction of permanent teeth in the vast majority of cases and correct:

•    Small upper and lower jaws
•    Severe overbite and overjet
•    Cross bites
•    “Pouting” lower lips
•    Excessive snoring
•    Chronic open mouth and mouth breathing
•    Airway problems associated with TMJ problems
•    Muscular imbalances and habits
•    Treatment options including Nitrous Oxide, Oral Conscious Sedation

At Dental Works 4 Kids we have also recently introduced Speech Therapy and Nutritional Counseling services making us the first office to pioneer the working relationship between the Pediatric Dentist, Orthodontist, Speech Therapist and Nutritionist to ensure our patients are receiving the most comprehensive care in regards to their oral health and overall health.

With these added services we can help to correct speech and language delays through early detection and also help improve the overall health of our patients through education on diet and nutrition.
