The Playstation 3 version of the game

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has had quite a rocky start to say the least. All platforms have experienced issues with logging in, had restrictions for buy ff14 gil, and a slew of other issues. These are mostly things that the average MMO gamer expects at launch. The Playstation 3 version of the game, however, has had an abnormal amount of problems. On top of login issues and such PS3 players that were able to actually access the game encountered several broken areas in-game.

In an effort to make things right Sony has decided to give anyone that purchased FFXIV: ARR from the Playstation Network (PSN) a full refund for the game. Not only have the buyers gotten their money back but they’ll still be able to play the game (once it’s fully functional on the platform) by simply re-downloading it from their account’s download history.

Because login and character creation restrictions have hindered our ability to provide quality service, all FINAL FANTASY XIV service accounts will receive an additional seven days of free play time. Furthermore, users who have yet to enter their registration codes will receive an additional seven-day trial should they register before 11:59 p.m. (PDT) on September 9, 2013. Moving forward, we will continue monitoring the servers to ensure that quality service and support are provided in a timely manner.
