Future of Hiring: Social HR

Posted by CoolestInterviewEver on February 2nd, 2014

Social Media has affected every business arm, including Human Resources. HR practitioners today use social media in myriad ways such as recruitment, assessment, employee feedback and, most importantly, for trend analysis.

HR, having always been driven by the ‘Human’ aspect of the acronym, is now unwittingly paving the way for a ‘Social HR’ through gradual assimilation of social technology in workplaces.

We think it’s a two way process, as far as finding a right job from social media is concerned. Firstly, it’s a responsibility of the organization that whatever vacancies are available they should immediately post on social network and secondly, it depends upon the job seekers that they are actually updating themselves and tracking organizations which posts jobs on their own social media networks. Job seekers should also follow the HR personnel of an organization on various social media platforms as it can help fetching a cool job.

To fill the gap between the HR and a job seeker, HCL Technologies has moved an extra step to launch a #CoolestInterviewEver where a person will get interviewed and hired via twitter.

Some of you may ask why only twitter, as there are number of social networks. But, twitter is an obvious choice because given the fast paced nature of the medium, twitter is more real-time. In addition, Twitter users are bloggers, vloggers, community members and active online participants in Internet culture, thus, making them an apt audience to monitor for online conversations.
