Telomeres, the Answer to ?How to Reverse the Aging Process?? Question

Posted by reversingmyage on February 15th, 2018

For years now, many have tried to find the answer to “how to reverse the aging process?” question.  Little did we know, the answer has been here all along and it is called telomeres. Although research about telomeres aging and its relation to extending human life span have started decades ago, there is still little knowledge for the general public about this subject.

What is Telomeres

Telomeres is a part of your DNA, located at the tip of your chromosomes. Telomeres is like the protective cover of your chromosomes. In every human being, our DNA works in a way that it splits itself in half, forming two new cells.

However, with every division, there will be some parts of the DNA that will be lost in the process. This is where telomeres came to play a part. The existence of telomeres in our DNA helps to protect that no important cells are lost during the process of DNA division. Without telomeres, the division process of our DNA may be interrupted and some important DNA might be lost in the process, which may lead to diseases or cell death.

The Role of Telomeres

Telomeres has been the subject of on-going debate between scientists. Many research in the subject of telomeres aging and its role in human health have resulted in various satisfying result, such as how telomeres can be in advantage of curing life-threatening diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, or even cancer.

As we know, many scientists and geneticists have been doing research to find out how to reverse the aging process.  Recent discoveries have shown that if we stop telomeres aging, we may be able to reverse the aging process. From past research in the academia sector, we found out that there is a positive correlation between telomeres length and human lifespan. Recently, the scientists at Stanford University have found out a way to increase the length of telomeres.

One might wonder, why is telomeres length so important in this matter? That is because the length of telomeres can be an indicator of someone’s lifespan. Previous studies have shown that telomeres get shorter as people age, and we know that telomeres is essential in keeping our chromosomes working properly. Therefore, if we can keep the length of telomeres for a longer time, we may also be able to reverse the human aging process and adding more years to human life.

Recent research and studies have shown that may be able to find out how to reverse the aging process if we stop telomeres aging from happening. The longer we keep the length of telomeres, the longer we can expect our cells to keep working properly. With our cells working properly and keep producing new important DNA, we can prevent the exposure of life-threatening diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, or other genetic diseases. Although we still need to do some more research in the area, this recent discovery surely brings a new light to keeping humans live a longer and healthier life.
