Web development consists of elaborated processes and strategies that go into developing a web site for the effective online presence. These processes can vary from developing simple stuff like plain text to complicated applications and e-businesses and social networking sites. Web development servicesconsist of processes that encompass things like web designing, content development, scripting for clients and servers, e-commerce development and network security. They also referred to as the development of CMS (content management systems). CMS is a system that plays the role of middleware between the user and databases through the medium of the browser. A leading benefit of CMS is that it allows a non-technical user to make changes to their website without having any technical skills. Larger IT firms and businesses today hire hundreds of web developers to build websites.

This is a growing industry nowadays that is driven by businesses, which use websites for selling their products and services. In addition to commercial systems there are several open source resources that assist in web development. Leading examples of such open source services are PHP, Linux and Apache. Open source is free to use and therefore a very beneficial service. Open source also allows people that are keen on learning web development to develop this skill at a minimum cost.

Web development service is carried out through the use of various languages and these languages are not very different from the ones we speak, they all have instructions and basically they are a way of communicating with the internet. Most commonly used languages in web development are:

  • PHP: Also known as the hypertext pre-processor is used mainly for client side coding in order to simplify the process of web development and to also tailor to user needs. PHP is used mainly to develop a page that is commonly used, something like a blog or a web page on a product and then the content can be adjusted to the user’s needs. This eliminates the need to create millions of pages for various user requirements; instead one page that is dynamic and can change according to user needs is created.

  • HTML: commonly known as Hyper Text Mark-up Language is the basic language used for all web pages. This language is used as a control mechanism. It creates the title, heading, body, links and other structures of a page.

  • CSS:  Full form being Cascading Style Sheets is used for styling web pages. For example, if we want to make all of the headings on a web page be green in colour or make the title bold or change the font for captions of images then CSS helps to change the elements in the web page without having to change each and every bit.

  • JavaScript: which is one of the most popular and useful languages to learn is used to help the web page be dynamic. Some example of this would be making an interactive map for a page or sifting through photos automatically or even changing the language of a page based on user selection.
