The enjoyment of the ride will be more if you are riding through the valleys where alongside the road river flows and in front of you there are snow-clad mountains. Bhutan is the kind of place where you can get this kind of adventure.

Bhutan is the small country of the Asian continent and situated in the eastern Himalayan region. It is the neighboring country of India. The Bhutan shares 699 kilometers long border with India. The adjacent Indian states to Bhutan are Assam, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. For the Bhutan bike trip, West Bengal is the best option. The Jaigaon town is the most adjacent to Bhutan from the Indian side. In terms of cross trade, it is associated with the Bhutanese town Phuentsholing. Phuenthsholing the border town from the Bhutan side. The Jaigaon is the only entry point for Bhutan for foreign nationals.

About The Permit for Entry with Vehicle

To enter Bhutan you have to obtain the permit from Royal Bhutan Government Immigration Office, Phuentsholing.

The process is followed as:

  • You have to fill a form which is easily available there even at the shops also. 

  • With the form the documents you have to produce are 

  • Personal Permit

  • Vehicle RC Copy

  • Vehicle Insurance 

  • Driving License Copy

  • Emission Certificate Copy

  • Now with all the documents, you have to produce in front of the Asst. RTO and after verification, you have to pay some nominal fee to get the permit for the vehicle. The process is very easy if you have all the documents although it will take some time.

  • The permit you will obtain will be valid up to Paro and Thimpu.

Day 1: Arrival at Phuntsholing from Siliguri

Day 2: Phuentsholing - Thimpu

Day 3: Thimpu Local Sightseeing - Gangtey

Day 4: Gangtey - Punakha

Day 5: Punakha - Paro 

Day 6: Paro Local Sightseeing- Taktsang Monastery

Day 7: Paro- Phuentsholing

Day 8: Departure from Phuentsholing to Siliguri

Day 9: Departure from Siliguri

  • Obtain all the personal and vehicle permit before the start of the ride.

  • Carry all essential Id proof with you issued by the Government of India.

  • Try to avoid any issue with the traffic police of Bhutan. If there is any issue solve it in requesting manner. 

  • Carry a personal garbage bag with you.

  • Obtain all the permits before the trek commencing. It will save time. 

  • Do not carry any weapon during the bike ride in Bhutan. 

  • Try to avoid plastic materials as much as possible. In case you have used it during trekking then do not leave it behind and put it in your garbage bag.

  • Try to avoid bad comments on co-travelers. If you face any issues, then notify your team/group leader.

  • If you face any health issues, then tell your team leader immediately. 

  • As Shop/ Restaurants are not allowed in the valley, carry some snacks/dry fruits with you. 

  • Try to avoid activities that harm nature. Be a responsible trekker.

  • Do not use any toxic material during the trip; it may lead you in difficulty.

  • Upon asking you have to show your id-proof authority.

  • Do not make fun of any religious belief.

  • Stick with the group and follow the instructions of the group leader.

  • Do not misbehave with any civilian of Bhutan.
