Trying to decide how to strategically market your product or service (or yourself) on the Internet can be overwhelming. There are endless marketing possibilities to choose from, and more great strategies are offered almost daily. How can an internet marketer decide on the best strategic marketing plan that works for his business?
There seem to be as many answers for which strategies to use in which situation as there are internet marketing strategies themselves! There are definitely too many strategies for any marketer to use all of them. If you have a very large team with access to multiple Internet marketing specialists, your marketing strategies can incorporate most of the available methods. However, most of us do not have access to that type of resource.
How do you choose your internet marketing strategies?
There are too many internet marketing options to discuss in a short article, but there are three general principles that can make a big difference to your marketing efforts. Following these principles will not only improve the success of your current Internet marketing plan, but can help you figure out where to start focusing your efforts in the first place.
Three principles for making appropriate strategic marketing decisions
1) Be capable in your strategic marketing
Not all sellers are created equal. We all have a variety of strengths and weaknesses. Unfortunately, we tend to focus more on how to fix our weaknesses rather than how to build on our strengths. It is true that we should all strive to improve, but sometimes the time and effort invested in learning the internet marketing strategies we are struggling with would be better at finding and refining strategies for which we are already apt.
When a strategy works well for most sellers, it doesn't necessarily mean it will work well for you. If a particular strategy isn't easy for you, it will take more time and probably won't deliver the best quality you need to stand out from your competitors. If you're not adept at something, use a different strategy that you can effectively implement with the unique capabilities you have, or make the investment to outsource if you have the wherewithal to do so.
This does not mean that we should not learn new strategies! If you are not constantly learning, you will not be successful either. Make sure you are not perpetually spending more time learning something that is difficult for you than it is taking to market your product or service. It is better to leave some great internet marketing strategies for others who have a better aptitude for them. Their experience will allow them to do better than you anyway.
2) Take care of your strategic marketing
Let's be honest; Everything we do in marketing is not fun. It is work, and most definitions of work do not include the word 'fun'. However ... take a second and think about sitting in front of your computer to work on your latest marketing project. If you prefer to be sitting in the dentist's chair to have a pair of teeth removed, you are spending your time with the wrong strategies. Work can be really nice. At the very least, you should be able to find some good strategies that will overcome tooth extraction. There are many strategic internet marketing options. Choose the ones you enjoy and care about.
"But my current marketing strategies are supposed to be the best for my product!" "My upline says this strategy has been working for everyone on the team!" If you hate what you are doing, it will show in your work, just as your passion will shine when you do something you love. You will need to spend extra hours when necessary, you will be more likely to quit prematurely and you will not be able to do exceptional work if you hate every minute of social networks that you can incorporate in your marketing campaign.
Start by learning the marketing strategies that interest you most, see which ones you like and master those first. Finally, learn them all so that you can find the methodologies that you like the best and the best. These will be the marketing strategies that will give you the best performance and are more sustainable in the long term.
